Welcoming Hummingbirds to Your Garden
Easily bring the magic of hummingbirds to your yard with our handcrafted hanging Hummingbird Feeder. Each feeder includes a waxed sail thread with decorative beads for easy hanging, plus a beautiful acrylic flower stopper.
How to Set Up Your Hummingbird Feeder
To get started, fill the bottle with a sugar solution made of 1 part white granulated sugar to 4 parts water. Stir until fully dissolved—there’s no need to boil the water if it’s clean. Gravity fed style feeders rely on a vacuum to prevent leaks-we recommend you slightly overfill the feeder before placing the stopper to ensure a tight seal and initial vacuum. Do not use honey, artificial sweeteners, or red dye, as these can be harmful to hummingbirds.
Hang your feeder in a quiet, shady spot—ideally near trees or shrubs where birds can perch, hide, and rest.
How to Keep Your Hummingbird Feeder Clean
A clean feeder is one of the simplest—and most important—ways to care for the hummingbirds that visit your yard. These tiny guests are sensitive to spoiled nectar, and a well-maintained feeder ensures they return safely and often.
If you’re new to it, don’t worry. Just follow these easy steps to keep your feeder fresh and ready:
- Empty any leftover nectar—always start with a clean slate.
- Remove your flower stopper.
- Soak the parts in warm, soapy water to loosen any residue.
- Gently scrub with a soft brush to remove buildup or mold.
- Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
- Let everything air dry before refilling with fresh nectar.
How often should you clean your feeder?
We recommend cleaning your feeder once a week. In warmer weather, every 2-3 days. And if the nectar ever looks cloudy or birds stop coming by, it’s time for a refresh—no matter the schedule.
A little regular care goes a long way in helping your hummingbirds thrive.
